What is Tapioca Pearls

Tapioca pearls, boba pearls or just pearls. These are the common names for those sphere shape topping seen on bubble tea drinks. The tapioca pearls are usually black and consist of cassava starch, sweet potato, and brown sugar. But some of them come in white which uses cassava starch, caramel, and chamomile root to make. Therefore, it holds a different flavour.

Tapioca Pearl was famous when the bubble tea phenomenon strikes. People go crazy for nice refreshing bubble tea and sweet chewy boba. In the end, rates of people having this bubble tea craving increase rapidly. The whole bubble tea phenomenon is so intense Subang SS15 even has a street of these stores. That street is then known as bubble tea street.

The preparation method for bubble tea is usually almost similar. But there’s always a slight difference that we must be aware of. So, for our Tapioca Pearls , the preparation method would be

  1. Cook the tapioca pearls in hot water to approximately 20-25 minutes. Watch over the pearls, must be aware of when they are cooked
  2. Then turn off the gas then cover the pot of boiled tapioca pearl and wait for approximately 25-30 minutes.
  3. Rinse the boiled tapioca pearl with clean water. Then pour syrup or sugar on tapioca pearl and carefully stir both ingredients until the tapioca pearls are evenly coated.(if not the tapioca pearl might stick)
  4. The finished product will be in best quality within 4-5 hours only.

Well, the preparation method above is how the packaging on or product shows. If you find any more effective method, please do share it with us. For we can make some changes and inform our supplier about it.

Tapioca Pearls is still a trend worldwide, people with a sweet tooth still crave for these drinks. This is the end of my passage. Toodles.
